How to Polish Stainless Steel

Materials Needed:

  • Stainless steel cleaner/polish (Weiman, Flitz)
  • Microfiber cloths (soft, lint-free)
  • White vinegar or olive oil (natural polish alternatives)
  • Baking soda paste (for scratches)
  • Polishing machine or sanding machine (for large surfaces)

Steps:

  1. Remove Dirt & Grease

    • Wash with warm soapy water → dry completely.
    • For stubborn spots, use isopropyl alcohol.
  2. Polish Surface

    • Apply stainless steel polish in thin layers.
    • Buff in the direction of the grain (circular motions cause swirls).
    • For scratches, use baking soda paste & gently rub.
  3. Finish & Protect

    • Wipe with olive oil (prevents fingerprints).
    • Avoid abrasive pads (use #0000 steel wool if necessary).

⚠️ Don’ts:
✗ Steel wool (unless ultra-fine for scratches)
✗ Bleach or ammonia-based cleaners

    • Rinse glasses with hot water to loosen grime.
  2. Remove Water Spots & Film
